The recent change in EPA regulations has mandated the production of Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD). To meet these new, tougher standards and the challenges of stricter sulfur regulations, MFA Oil has created PDF Ultra.
MFA Oil’s premium diesel fuel with PDF Ultra is formulated to improve the quality and performance of Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel for on-road and off-road diesel engines, exceeding ASTM and OEM requirements. The advanced chemistry in PDF Ultra is designed to make your diesel engine more dependable, maximizing horse power and giving you a higher return on your investment.
PDF Ultra will keep you running strong, no matter what lies down the road.
PDF Ultra exceeds the toughest lubricity requirements.
The current ASTM specification calls for a maximum HFRR score of 520. However, based on testing done with ULSD fuels, manufacturers of fuel injection systems strongly recommend a maximum wear scar diameter of 460 micrometers. Most ULSD fuels meet only the minimum ASTM requirement. PDF Ultra exceeds the stricter demands of fuel system manufacturers in ULSDs:
- formulated to improve the quality and performance of ULSD fuel designed for all on- and off-road industries
- exceeds ASTM and OEM lubricity requirements
- delivers superior low-temperature operability
- raises cetane values above the standard
- keeps engines running cleaner, longer
- provides better thermal stability
- dramatically reduces static build-up
- proven effective and compatible with LSD fuel
PDF Ultra delivers superior low-temperature operability.
PDF Ultra has been formulated to drastically reduce and, in most cases, eliminate the need for blending with #1 in ULSDs. With a potent combination of pour depressants, and a multiple-stage deicer aimed at keeping both the fuel line and fuel filter from freezing, PDF Ultra delivers consistently superior performance compared to blending ULSDs with #1.
PDF Ultra means more power for your fuel dollars.
The same process required to reduce the sulfur content in ULSD produces a reduction in the fuel's energy content. In fact, an approximate 1% loss in BTU value is generally expected. PDF Ultra is designed to give your engine extra horsepower -- which leads to fuel savings.
PDF Ultra raises cetane values above accepted standards.
The National Conference of Weights and Measures (NCWM) has proposed that fuel should have a minimum cetane number of 47 in order to be considered "premium." PDF Ultra raises the cetane values of average ULSDs to meet this high standard of "premium."
PDF Ultra is proven to provide better thermal stability.
Poor storage life can lead to deposit formations in the fuel system and engine, plugged fuel filters, corroded components and degraded seals. Independent tests have shown that PDF Ultra does an outstanding job of stabilizing diesel fuels, helping to keep engines running clean.
PDF Ultra keeps engines cleaner and running longer.
PDF Ultra delivers a time-tested detergent package to help prevent the formation of carbon deposits which clog fuel injectors. PDF Ultra is particularly effective for ULSDs, since fuels with lower sulfur levels are more susceptible to carbon build-up.
PDF Ultra beats the safety standard for conductivity.
ULSDs present a greater inherent risk of static build-up than LSDs. For safe fuel handling, the industry standard is set at a minimum level of 50 pS/m. Results of tests conducted on ULSD with PDF Ultra have shown its remarkable effectiveness in dissipating static electricity.
